In order to gain access to INPS online services and apply for health insurance cover in Italy, you must have a PIN code.

There are two possible ways to apply for a PIN code:


Online: Fill in your Italian tax code and other personal data. Once you have completed this, the first part of the PIN will be sent to you by email or to your mobile, while the second part will be posted to your Italian address

To apply for the EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) or TEAM as it is called in Italy (in Italy it is the back of the Tessera Sanitaria) you must be registered with your local ASL office first. Just as an example, this link will bring you to ASL offices present in Lombardia region. The ASL office you will deal with depends on your address of residence. Once you are registered with ASL, they will send the necessary data to the system which then issues the TS or TEAM card. The card should be delivered directly to your address
